This is a solid choice for a foldable, sturdy laptop stand. The rotating components are sturdy enough to stay where you place them, but not so tight that it’s hard to adjust, so it’s well tuned in terms of friction.The part that touches your laptop or device has soft silicone-like pads to prevent scratches, and has the same pads on the bottom to prevent it from slipping. The metal it’s made of is strong and smooth, I feel no hard edges or flaws that could get caught in a bag. It fold pretty flat, but not completely, as the side tabs stick up a bit. So I’m not sure I would use this for travel for short trips, as it would take up the room of a small coffee table book. But for longer work trips, I would definitely consider bringing it.I think this is an excellent option as a daily laptop stand for your desk that can be tucked away when you want a more zen workspace. I have a few laptop stands that are fixed platforms. Although they work great, they take up a lot of space when not in use, and I can't customize the angle. This Amazon Basics laptop stand solves those issues! You can collapse it flat and store it in a coffee table drawer. When needed, put it in a Z form, or just raise the top part (right facing arrow mode?) and you're good to go. So far I've used it with a MacBook Air M2, Lenovo Yoga 9i, iPad pro 11" (with Apple keyboard) and Galaxy Tab S8+ (without the Samsung keyboard), and it all worked without any problems.The joints are stiff and sturdy, which is a big plus in my book, because once you set it up, you can even type of the laptop and it won't move or collapse. If you're buying this with the aim of adjusting the angle on the go (similar to Surface pro kickstand operation), this is not the product for you. Don't get me wrong, you can still adjust the angle to your liking, but you'll need to move the laptop (or your mobile device) off of it, use two hands to set up the new angle and put the device back on. If this process is "too much" for you, then look elsewhere.The sticky pads at the bottom of the stand, as well as the platform facing the bottom of your laptop work great and keep everything in place. The intentional space left in the platform helps with cooling and giving fans enough room to circulate air.If you're in the market for a sturdy, well-made, adjustable stand give this one a try!

Have been using this item for a few months. Works really well. Extremely stable and weighty so no worries about tipping over. Really solid item.

This laptop stand riser works well, it can hold up the weight of the laptop without sliding down. There are some options to adjust the angle. However, I find it a bit stiff to adjust the riser. I suppose it will get easier as I use it more often but it was very hard to expand it when I first took it out of the box. My laptop can be folded so I folded it backward to use it like a tablet and used a keyboard to type, which worked very well with this riser. However, I did find it a bit awkward to use when I used the laptop with the keyboard on the riser.

I ordered this Amazon Basics Laptop Stand Riser because I was attracted to the ability to adjust height as well as tilt. Alas, my laptop when mounted caused the stand to collapse because of its weight and when typing the bounce was annoying. The good news is it works just fine for my kindle so I can sit back and read with ease.
